Something I just now came across is that LinkedIn is displaying some sneaky behavior, too.
They have announced it on the blog, but conveniently “forgot” to inform members individually that they now can use any member’s picture and public information from their profile in commercial advertising on their website. It is a feature which can be switched off, but of course it’s switched ON by default.
If you’re not so keen on seeing your face on LinkedIn’s website in a commercial situation, you can do the following to not allow LinkedIn to use your information:
Click the top one from the two in the red circle and you get the following pop-up:
So this box is by default checked. Uncheck it and save to make sure that LinkedIn will not use your picture and information for their advertising.
And while your at it… Also click the second link from the two in the red circle. That’ll give you the pop-up below, in which you can uncheck the box so you won’t get all the commercial shit thrown at you.
